The Seamus Heaney Homeplace Trip
Our Year 13 class visited 'The Seamus Heaney Homeplace' and stole a glance into the inner life of the Northern Irish poet. From hanging displays that showcased his wordplay bridging English, Ulster-Scots, and the Irish language, to the sentimentalities of his childhood such as his first pen, embodying his parent's hope for a new generation equipped to fulfil their creative passions. All of which we reflected on in insightful lectures and seminars where we collaboratively explored the resonant impact of Heaney's work.
