Pop Up Restaurant
On Saturday the 8th February 2020, Year 13 students from AGS organised and ran a community Pop Up Restaurant, the first of its’ kind in Northern Ireland within a school setting and what an amazing event this proved to be.
Students planned, marketed, prepared, cooked and delivered every aspect of the evening under the watchful eye of celebrity chef Mark Lloyd. Mark has successfully facilitated many Pop Up Restaurants in the UK and his first venture into NI did not disappoint as he was ‘blown away’ by the students’ organisation and enthusiasm. We were delighted to host ninety very generous guests from the local area who embraced this charity event wholeheartedly, contributing to a final fundraising total of £2130. Thank you to our guests for making the evening such a success and furthermore to all businesses in the local area who donated everything from chicken fillets to silverware. Every course on our menu was covered by local business and this enabled all funds to go to the students’ mental health charity of choice, Made for More. The stars of the show were without doubt the AGS students, ably assisted by staff member Mrs Creighton. Guests were overwhelmed by the attention to detail and their professionalism in servitude. On behalf of AGS we’d like to thank everyone who made the evening possible and we look forward to popping up again in 2020.
