Belfast Synagogue Trip

Year 9 pupils had the opportunity to visit Belfast Synagogue as part of studying Judaism in RE.

Our tour guide, Michael, shared his own story of life as a Jewish person in Belfast. Pupils learned about the history of the Jewish community in NI as well being able see the key features of an orthodox synagogue. Some pupils even managed to blow the Shofar, a ram’s horn blown during the festival of Rosh Hashanah.
