Sixth Form Enrichment
Sixth Form life at Antrim Grammar School isn’t just about the subjects you study. There are lots of other areas of school life you can get involved with.
Being involved with enrichment activities gives you the chance to make friends, have fun, develop new skills, complement your academic studies and really get stuck in to sixth form life. Furthermore Universities and employers place a lot of value on enrichment activities, so being involved can have benefits in terms of your future too by enhancing your CV and university application.
Below are just a few of the enrichment opportunities we offer:
It is our aim that all students in Sixth Form will Aspire, Grow and Succeed; we offer a wide range of leadership opportunities for all students.
In Year 14, the Head Girl and Boy, their deputies, and the Senior Prefect Team play a vital role in school leadership and are often the first people you meet when at arriving at any school event. There are also opportunities to be a Year Representative on the Student Voice or to hold the position of Class Captain.
There are many Student Committees which play an intrinsic role in school life such as the Student Learning and Teaching Committee or the Be Safe Group (e-Safety). There are also opportunities to act as Literacy and Numeracy Leaders within the school, to be a learning mentor for junior students or to assist with classroom support of junior classes.
Sixth Form students also support the transition for new Year 8 pupils, acting as Class Mentors and Social Buddies, visiting form classes and organising a range of events across the year.
Extra-Curricular clubs offer further leadership opportunities such as Club or Team Captain, Committee Chair or Leader of the School Orchestra.
