Positive Behaviour

The school operates using the positive behaviour management policy under a restorative ethos and using non punitive methods, where possible. Sanctions are used in school to address relevant issues, but as a rule the school seeks to resolve problems where friendships sour and to engage with pupils and parents at all times. The policy, which is available on this website, clearly stipulates the school’s approach to maintaining discipline and our no tolerance of any aggression leading to the use of fists. This will incur an immediate suspension.

Using rewards and the year group noticeboard, we aim to encourage positive role models and celebrate these through the colours and honours system and in Assemblies. The role of the Class tutor has been enhanced and every encouragement is given to develop a class identity and record class achievements on class noticeboards.
