Thank you for your interest in the Antrim Grammar School website. I am confident that within it you will see a picture of a successful, progressive grammar school committed to its aim of “Educating for Life” and to equipping our young people to meet the needs of a changing society.Antrim Grammar School is one of the most academically successful schools in the Province. We are honoured to have been selected by The Sunday Times as The Northern Ireland Post Primary School of the Year 2007, an award based on a holistic picture of our school and its achievements in learning and teaching. These achievements have been further recognised in recent years through our designation as a Specialist School for Mathematics and Computing for 2009-2011 and our receipt of the BECTA ICT Mark in 2010. In addition to our strong academic ethos, Antrim Grammar School has a deserved reputation as a school with a major emphasis on pastoral care and social responsibility. The school provides a safe, caring and creative environment, in which education can be enjoyed and in which our young people can achieve their potential. We value relationships; the establishment of successful partnerships between pupils, staff, parents and the wider community are central to our work. |
|
Equally we value each individual and every opportunity is taken to foster and promote the development of our young people not only academically but in the personal, physical, social and spiritual spheres of life. This development is supported by a wide-ranging programme of extra-curricular activities and travel opportunities in which almost all pupils participate. Our pupils are drawn from a wide geographical area and from all religious and ethnic backgrounds. We place great value and emphasis on this and on our links with other schools, locally, nationally and internationally. In a changing society, Antrim Grammar School is committed to providing the highest quality of education within its impressive facilities. Moreover, it offers a modern curriculum suited to our community, to our ethos as an academic grammar school and to preparing our students to be good citizens. I hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and trust that you will experience our passion for and commitment to working with all our young people to develop and enrich their lives.
