On 5th February a team of 4 Year 10 students went to QUB to take part in the first ever Francofest competition. Their task was to create a market a product which they then had to sell at a mock trade fair using their French! They decided to sell bath bombs scented with Lavender from Provence and spent many lunchtimes with their team designing the product, packaging and marketing materials. They not only honed their French skills but also learned about project management and business and enterprise. The girls put in a fantastic display on the day competing against 30 other schools from across NI, and although they didn’t win, they did get a Special Mention for their excellent French, enthusiasm and team work. They also got a tour of the QUB campus and a talk about the importance of learning a language and most of all, they had lots of fun! Well done to the whole team.
