Thank you for your interest in the AntrimGrammar School website. I am confident that within it you will see a picture of a successful, progressive grammar school committed to its aim of “Educating for Life”.
Last year we were delighted to have been selected by The Sunday Times as The Northern Ireland Post Primary School of the Year 2007, an award based on a holistic picture of our school and its achievements in teaching and learning.
The quality of our work has again been recognised this year in a report by the Education and Training Inspectorate which you can access on the website. It highlights many areas of strength of the school, in particular, “the exemplary behaviour of our pupils”, “the outstanding provision for pastoral care” and “the teaching, of which the majority was very good or outstanding”.
It concludes that “in the areas inspected, the quality of education provided by the organisation is very good”, which provides considerable affirmation of our current work.
In addition to our strong academic ethos, AntrimGrammar School has a deserved reputation as a school with a major emphasis on pastoral care. We value relationships: the establishment of successful partnerships between pupils, staff, parents and the wider community is central to our work.
I hope that as you look through the website you will experience our passion and commitment for working with all young people to develop and enrich their lives.
